Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of that year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced service.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.
He defended 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
