Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Police then located multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.
City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior political figure commented the incident made him without words and had to be addressed promptly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in February 2020.
